On the evening of April 20th, 2012 Portland Global Initiatives kicked off its first ever fundraising party. After putting on the annual Portland Walk for Water, PGI wanted to try something a little special this year. The timing coincided with the arrival of the annual SCAA Specialty Coffee Expo and all the stars aligned to make it a great evening. This was a fundraiser to benefit the SCAA’s 2012 host country, Honduras. With the help of an enthusiastic crowd from the local area and all over the world, Portland Global Initiatives was able to raise $16,500 to go directly to Water Brigades projects in Honduras.
As you can see from the pictures below this was a fantastic night full of fun, laughs, and lots of great music! You can read all about the specifics in this blog about the evening.
Many many people helped to bring Coffeelandia to life. A huge debt of gratitude is owed to our fantastic volunteer crew: Arianna Sawyer, Sarah Roberts, Michelle Graham, Dorothy Dewan, Steven Dutt, Jeanette Lee, Neal Franzer, John Gilles, Misty May, and the hardworking crew at Portland Roasting Coffee. Thank you for your help.
